What Does An Incline Bench Cost Nowadays?

April 1st 2020

If you are looking for ways to improve your home gym, an incline bench is something that you should consider.

An incline bench will upgrade your home gym allowing you to perform incline accessories such as the incline barbell bench press, the seated incline dumbbell curl, seated shoulder press, and many more.

Having an incline bench is essential for completing your home gym and getting one will serve you for a myriad of purposes.

In this article, we will be looking at some of the best incline bench setups that you can purchase online.

These reviews are based on my experience as a powerlifter and a strength athlete who uses these types of equipment on a daily basis.

But before we begin, I want to discuss the importance of knowing your goals for working out, and how doing so can save you time, and money by allowing you to make wise purchases.

Is getting an incline bench press worth it?

An incline bench press is worth it because it expands your exercise pool.

If you are tired of doing the same exercises and are looking for more variations, simply adding an incline bench to your home gym will multiply the number of exercises you can perform, and the number of body parts worked.

For example, adding the aspect of an incline will allow you to perform the incline dumbbell bench press which targets primarily your upper chest.

An incline bench can allow you to perform the incline dumbbell curl which targets the long head of your biceps.

An incline bench can allow you to perform the seated dumbbell shoulder press.

There is a wide array of exercises that the incline bench can allow you to perform, and you will not regret the notion of getting one.

Defining your workout goal

The purpose of this section serves to save you time and money so that instead of spending money on the fanciest equipment, you can specifically choose what you need and don’t need.

If your goal is to get stronger or to perform primary compound movements (squat, deadlift, bench press, etc.), you will get the most bang for your buck by purchasing a power rack or a squat rack.

A power rack is a sturdy steel rack with adjustable pins that you can set low enough to perform the deadlift, and high enough to perform the overhead press.

A power rack will allow you to perform all exercises.

The downside of it is that they are pretty expensive and that they require a lot of room in order to set up.

Power racks are for serious lifters who are looking to specifically perform the main compound movements in the comfort of their own home.

A squat rack is simply a power rack but with only the adjustable bars that allow you to change the height of the barbell.

This is good because it is a lot cheaper and takes up a lot less space but the downside is they do not have an added safety element in case you fail the lift.

In that case, you better learn how to ditch a lift safely in case you fail.

On the other hand, if you are a novice or beginner strength trainer looking to simply improve your physique by adding in an incline bench to your gym, you don’t need to get a power rack or squat rack.

Instead, you can simply get an adjustable seat that allows you to work different inclines.

An adjustable incline bench press rack is fairly inexpensive and takes up a lot less space than a power rack.

If you think an incline bench press rack is more suited towards your goals, then read on because here are our suggestions for the top incline benches.

Our recommendation for the top incline bench press rack

After searching through multiple databases and comparing the cost to the quality of all the different types of racks, here are our recommendations for the best incline benches for those with different purposes.

For those who want to be able to perform a little bit of everything, and more including barbell exercises, you can’t go wrong with Body Champ’s Olympic Weight Bench.

This machine is adjustable so you can also do flat bench press if you desire.

You could even do seated overhead presses as well!

The only caveat is that there aren’t any pins so if you do fail on the weight, you should learn how to drop the weight safely.

In addition, the bench comes with an adjustable curl pad to allow you to perform preacher curls, and leg extension if you so desire.

Overall, a great bench rack that gives you a variety of different options and more options means more exercises.

The only downside is that the racks have a deep J hook, which makes unracking the barbell a huge pain.

Unless you have experienced spotters with you, this can take a while to adjust to.

For those who want to be able to perform any incline exercises (excluding barbells)

The Fitness Reality 1000 Super Max weight bench will allow you to perform almost all incline exercises with the exception of the incline barbell bench press.

However, this exercise can be easily substituted for the incline dumbbell bench press.

What makes the Fitness Reality 1000 unique is that it gives you the most bang for your buck in terms of quality and cost.

With a simple design, the Fitness Reality 1000 does what it intends to do. It serves as a stable surface capable of handling over 800 lbs., with an adjustable incline capacity, and with a wide enough backrest suitable for the size of most average lifters.

In addition, the entire bench is foldable making it easy to store for those who live in tight spaces.

Overall, the Fitness Reality 1000 is a great incline bench that gives you the most bang for your buck, and allows you to upgrade your home fitness gym to the next level by allowing you to perform exercises in a variety of different positions.

How much does an incline bench cost?

Depending on the brand and your customization, an incline bench can cost as much as a power cage and adjustable weight bench.

It could even be more!

That is not efficient.

I rather you get the best power cages for your money and just add an adjustable weight bench so that you can save both time and money.

Only a few companies actually create an official incline bench rack and it really depends if you truly desire a setup that is only made for the incline bench.

Chances are unless you are a commercial gym or just have a ton of money, you would opt to get a power cage instead.
